Listening to anglers for several years now and paying attention to all I read/ hear and see and of course experience myself - I think the biggest part of trophy bass fishing is profile of the bait - hey if you just want a day on the water and catch a few nice bass just keep throwing what u normally do - and dont get me wrong u can catch a trophy bass on some regular and standard lures and eqiupment but for  trophy bass in my opinion profile is the key to = sucess - or baits that simulate a larger profile - such as buzzbaits, rage tails .....so go give this a try and dont give into #s - tight lines
