I do They are all idle only no limit, except Silver Lake in Dover the limits vary by boat size up to 115. Noxontown is 5 hp regardless of idle or not. Red Mill is the only exception, no limit, no idle, you can open it wide up. Prime Hook is 25 hp.

Hey Man, I'm pretty sure the only lake in De with a horsepower limit is Silver Lake in Dover. Which is 100 hp if I'm not mistaken. The ponds are no wake however. Still dont understand why Silver lake can't be the same as I would love to get my boat on there.
Oops started this reply and didnt post it before Steve also did.

Sorry....But what does idle only mean excactly? I gues I want to know, if I have a 200 hp on the back, can I start it up to get the boat back on the trailer? Can I run it in ponds at a NO WAKE speed? Do I have to just use my trolling motor on the ponds and to help get the boat back on the trailer? Sorry for all these questions but I have never had a boat on a Delaware pond.

You can run the motor on idle. Just no wake. lol good luck. But, I have never had a problem. Yes, you can turn it on and jump on the trailer.

In other words, use it to get on and off and just go real slow except on Red Mill where you can open that baby up. lol

Just be careful on the angle of your motor as these ramps suck. It helps to have a jack plate so you dont suck up too much crap off the bottom. Also the moss is a lot of fun to get off of the trailer. Do it all the time with a 225, so you shouldn't have a problem.

The ramps at Lums,Noxontown and Millsboro are the worst you can go but be super carefull.

Sorry to revive and old thread but apparently there is a 5hp limit at Millsboro Pond: "If fishing is one of your favorite past times then there is always the Millsboro Pond and Ingram Pond. There is a boat ramp on Route 30 for Millsboro Pond which allows small boats with no larger than five horse power motors along with the boat ramp at Ingrams pond to accommodate the fisherman." http://www.millsboro.org/ParksandRecreation.html
Is this an error? Is there a hp limit at Millsboro but not one at Ingram? I have never fished either but I was hoping to bring my 16.5' Skeeter with 90hp Yamaha with me to Rehoboth this summer and fish those ponds while the rest of the family wastes time reading magazines in the sand. I would hate to drive the boat all the way from DC and not be able to use it!

Yeah I forgot about Millsboro. Thats true. None on Ingrams as far as I know. At least there is no sign and nobody ever enforces it if there is, but I dont think so, but Millsboro and Noxontown both ar 5 hp and Noxontown is only open on Sundays now.

No you can use it and there are some others close by as well where you can launch and they are good. I'll show you if you want.

When we get ready to head down there I will let you know! It probably will be late May but we also go down for a week in August. I would love to have someone come with me and show me these ponds. I was hoping to fish Millsboro, Ingram, and Trap ponds and if anyone has access to Red Mill I would be thrilled to have them on my back deck!!!

I have access to Red Mill but I only have access to my friends ramp which is on a STEEP hill and he does not allow a bass boat to launch, but you can launch a smaller boat up to 16 feet, like a flat bottom aluminum if you have one?

My bass boat is only 16'2" but it is a bass boat. Perhaps I should invest in a jon boat for Delaware...

Yep You will be at Red Mill every day you can go with that. A 14 or 16 foot flat bottom boat and we are launching in a second whenever we want. I am also getting one again just for Delaware now that I am retired from guiding and full time tournaments. I will have one shortly and be at Red Mill evry day. lol lol Just call me and say we are going and thats it. lol
